Attended public school and Ladies Seminary in Wooster, Ohio. She taught public schools for 19 years in Ohio, Iniana and Michigan.
In 1870 and 1871 she attended the State Normal school fo Mchigan. In the autumn of 1876 she took up the study of Medicine and in March 1880 graduated from the Habnemann College in Chicago, IL Practice Medicine in Elkhart, IN
