    • According to the autobiography of her granddaughter, she came from Ireland of S cottish origin and her father was a nobleman, owning a castle. His name was "C ochran". In the book "Abraham Owen Smoot - A Testement of His Life" on pg. 172 , following thename of her father Cochran it has (Cohran). I don't know if th at is the correct spelling or what it should have been.
