      On February 28, 1811, Benoni, Jr. of the town of Middlesex, Ontario Co., NY, sold his 40 acre Middlesex farm to Reynolds Moon. Abiel Thomas and George Hoard served as witnesses. Ontario County, Deed BooK 17, pages44-45.
      On May 1, 1822, Benoni, Jr. sold his property in the town of Gorham, Ontario Co, NY to Vinson Runyan and wife Louisa of Seneca, Ontario Co, NY. E. B. Woodworth served as a witness. Ontario County, Deed Book 47, pages 69-70.
      On June 13, 1826, Benoni Jr. and wife Mary of the town of Gorham, Ontario Co., NY sold for $100.00 æ of an acre to David B. Gillett and Salma Moon. This transaction was witnessed by Stewart C. Moon, Sr. Ontario County, Deed BooK 47, pages 70-71.

    • Benoni, Jr’s various land transactions reveal his residences and length of stay in an area. On February 28, 1811, Benoni, Jr. of the town of Middlesex, Ontario Co., NY, sold his 40 acre Middlesex farm to Reynolds Moon. Abiel Thomas and George Hoard served as witnesses. Ontario County, Deed BooK 17, pages44-45. On May 1, 1822, Benoni, Jr. sold his property in the town of Gorham, Ontario Co, NY to Vinson Runyan and wife Louisa of Seneca, Ontario Co, NY. E. B.       By 1840, Benoni Moon, Jr. and wife Mary resided in Ashtabula County, Ohio. The 1840 U.S. Census for Ashtabula County reveals that their family consisted of 1 male 5 to 10, 1 male 60to 70 years of age, 1 female 15 to 20 and 2 females 20 to 30, and 1 female 60 to 70. They also resided in Gorham, Ontario County, NY, and make their last move to Cuyahoga Falls, Summit County Ohio. Benoni died May 8, 1861 at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and is buried at the Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls (Lot ).

      By 1850, Benoni and Mary were living in the household of Peter Mains and their daughter, Lucinda in Summit County, Ohio (see 1850 US Census for Summit County, Ohio, family number 46). This US Census further reveals that the following Moon families were living on adjacent farms to Benoni and Mary: Silas (b.1803) & Mary Moon (b.1799/00), family no. 43; William Moon (b. 1824) & Amy (Chase) Moon; William Brown (b.1812) & Mary Ann (Moon) Brown (b.1816), family no. 44; Peleg (b.1776) & Elizabeth (b.1783) Moon,family no. 45; Reynolds Moon (b.1822) & Julia Moon (b.1825), family no. 45; Warren (b.1825) & Sarah M. Moon (b.1831).
