    • Isaac was one of the founders of the Mutual Auto Fire and Theft Association of Harleysville. This grew to become the Harleysville Mutual Insurance Company of America. Isaac was also one of the first in the area to recognize the value of automobiles and operated the first agency for motor cars in the area. After his death his agency was operated by his sons in Telford under the name of I. L. Alderfer and Sons.
