    • KOLB WAGON WORKS FOCUS OF SPEAKERS (Tuesday, 3 Apr 2001):
Twin brothers Robert and Richard Kulp will relate the dramatic story of the Kolb Wagon Works of Perkiomenville, 40 miles west of Philadelphia, when the Cornwall Iron Furnace Lecture Series continues on Tuesday April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Freeman Hall at Cornwall Manor. No advertising was needed to promote the business which appears on a geological survey from 1880. The wagon works stayed in the family from 1780 until the death of the twins' great-grandfather in 1929. This man, William H. R. Kulp, decided to Americanize the name, changing Kolb to Kulp. In 1994, the twins decided to re-open the shop and relied on Amish neighbors for instruction in making wooden wheels. The Kulps plan to bring examples of their work. Admission to their talk is free.
