- EGIN BENCH - Gerald Elvin Rydalch, 53, a former Mountain Bell employee, died March 18, 1994, of an apparent heart condition.
He was born June 1, 1940, at Egin to Elvin Glen and Leona Weaver Rydalch. He grew up in Egin and attended school at Parker and South Fremont High in St. Anthony. He also attended Utah State University.
On Nov. 11, 1960, he married Deanna Bowen at Twin Groves. They lived in Egin and later moved to Ogden, Utah, where they lived for eight years. While in Ogden, he worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co., and was a member of the Ogden Lions Club and Ogden Jaycees. They later returned to the Egin area, where he continued his work for Mountain Bell and ran the family farm. He retired from US West in 1989 and started RYCOM, his own telephone business.
A member of the St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce and the Telephone Pioneers of America, his hobbies included golfing, gold mining, fishing, playing guitar, his family and his friends at Egin Mercantile.
Survivors include his wife of Egin; two sons, Monte G. Rydalch of Phoenix and Michael B. Rydalch of Egin; a sister, J'Lene Ford of Idaho Falls; a brother, Elvin Garth Rydalch of St. Anthony; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Egin Bench LDS Church with Bishop Gary Taylor officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bidwell Funeral Home and from noon to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Parker Cemetery.
