    • BIOGRAPHY: Arrived in Philadelphia in August aboard the 'Francis & Dorothy' from London, England.
    • He is buried Springfield.
    • Peter Schumaker arrived in Pennsylvania from Krisheim in the Palatinate in High Germany. He arrived on the ship Francis and Dorothy October 14,1685. He settled in Germantown. In 1689 he is listed as living on the west side of Main Street toward the Schuylkill River. He is probably buried in the old Shoemaker Burying Ground in Germantown. Children were Peter, Mary, Frances, Gertrude and Agnes

Comments: Numerous "suggestions" on the early Kolb/Schumacher lines, but didn't post them on suggestion pages as I wasn't sure if they were private.  Peter Schumacher sr was a widow when he came to Pennsylvania in 1689, and any children he had prior to that year were born in Germany, not in North America. The Sarah Hendricks is a bit of confusion--he may have married her in Germany and she might have been mother to his kids, but he also might have married her in Pennsylvania later. His brother George married a Sarah Hendricks in Germany but he died on the voyage so she arrived as the widow Sarah Schumaker. A Peter Schumaker is mentioned as having a wife Sarah Hendricks in the Friends records, but wasn't transcribed in enough detail to determine if they meant sr or jr, or whether it was a past or current marriage. It needs to be examined again. Senior and junior were often confused from records written when they were both alive and the same stories are told about both. Johannes Kolb and his wife Sarah were both killed by indians in January 1759 on the same day.  Two of their sons died that year as well--Jacob in December fighting in the Cherokee Rebellion with other family members, but I don't know about Henreich, who could have been killed either in the attack or fighting in the rebellion.
