Deceased Name: Obituary: Nellie Elaine Kloeppel
VERNAL- Our beloved mother Nellie Elaine Kloeppel, centurion, age 101, passed away May 22, 2002.
Nellie was born February 1st, 1901 to William S. and Nellie E. Luckey Powell in Vernal on her father's homestead in Ashley Ward. Nellie became a mail order bride after her mother urged her to write. She married Henry J. Kloeppel May 11, 1921, in Vernal, they were sealed February 26, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She loved to travel, gardening, flowers, playing the piano and the violin. Nellie was an avid reader of the Farmers Almanac.
For 95 years she never left her father's farm.
Nellie is survived by, daughters, Ruby Anderson of Vernal; Mae Sizemore of Salt Lake City; Walter (Shirley) Kloeppel of Vernal; Jerry (Janet) Kloeppel of Vernal; Alvaretta (Blair) Johnson of West Jordan; 13 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Kloeppel.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ashley 1st Ward Chapel (850 West 100 North). Friends and family may call Monday evening 7-9 P.M. at the mortuary and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the VernalMemorial Park. Directors, Thomas-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
