- 1)OBITUARY for ALBERTA "Bert" DALZELL
Mass of Christian burial for Alberta ìBertî Dalzell, age 84, of Lemmon will be 9:30 a.m. Monday March 6, at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Lemmon. Fr Brian Fawcett will officiate with burial at 2:30pm Monday at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Following the burial, a luncheon will be at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Lemmon.
Serving as Honorary Bearers are her 6 great-grandchildren; Patrick and Derrick Trull; Dylan Kroger and Zoey Dalzell; Jasmine Holt; Irina Grass.
Serving as Active Casketbearers are her 16 grandchildren, Sean Trull; Larry Joe and Dustin Dalzell, Robert Grass; Elizabeth and Danielle Dalzell; Kayla, Kyle, and Kelsey Dalzell; Paul, Luke and Sam Erfman; Riley and Halie Dalzell, and Caitlin and JessicaDalzell.
ALBERTA G. HEALEY was born on November 2, 1921 in Newell, SD to Albert J. and Josephine Mae (Young) Healey. She graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1940 and then went to work for the Meade County Extension Office.
On January 14, 1946, Bert was united in marriage to Hugh C. Dalzell in Sturgis. She was a full time stay at home mom and raised their eight children.
In April of 1973, Bert went to work at Wheeler Manufacturing and retired in 1996. Hugh passed away on October 7, 1973. In August 2002, Bert suffered a massive stroke and became a resident of Five Counties Nursing Home. She passed from this life there on Thursday evening March 2, with her children at her side at the age of 84 years, 4 months.
Bert enjoyed being with her family, playing bridge, shopping, watching baseball and football on TV, and watching her children and grandchildren participate in their sporting activities.
Grateful for having shared her life are her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Ronnie Trull, Arden, NC; Phyllis and Dave Erfman, Sturgis, SD; 5 sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Dalzell (Penny Heins), El Cajon, CA; Robert and Alyce Dalzell, Peyton, CO;Pat and Karla Dalzell, Rich and Annette Dalzell, all of Lemmon, SD; Mike and Jackie Dalzell, Ekalaka, MT; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Dorothy Ramsey, Sturgis, SD; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford ìBuckî and Thelma Healey, Rockerville, SD; Harold and Charlene Healey, El Centro, CA; Marge Healey-Sherman, Portland, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Hugh; daughter, Peggy Martens; granddaughter Heather Holt; grandson, Brandon Dalzell; 3 sisters, Hattie Tomsha, Vera Mailloux, and Helen Eveleth; 2 brothers, Don Healey and Eddie Healey.
Visitation will be Sunday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and on Monday one hour prior to services at St. Maryís Catholic Church. A memorial has been established and condolences to the family can be sent through our websiteat www.evansonjensenfuneralhome.com.
