- Louise Kiefer Confer was born Nov. 7, 1886 and lived in Greencastle, Ind., graduating from Greencastle High School in 1905, where she was valedictorian. She married Carl Vincent Confer June 30, 1912; they had two sons, Carl Vincent Confer, Jr., also a DePauw University graduate ’34 and Warren K. Confer. Louise Confer was a teacher in Rensselaer, Ind., 1909-11 and a homemaker. She died Feb. 20,1961 in Berkeley, Calif.
The collection consists primarily of photographs of Louise Confer, her parents, husband and sons and other family members and family history material. Also included is a Greencastle High School commencement program and invitation and Louise Confer’s highschool valedictory speech.
